Shop for shrubs, cold season veggies and annuals, and more! 4 Sunday, 1 pm, McMillan Greenhouse NC Piedmont Orchid Society Love orchids and want to learn more about these fascinating plants? Consider joining the Piedmont Chapter of the Orchid Society. Meetings are held at the McMillan Greenhouse on the first Sunday of most months, and are free and open to the public. A potluck begins at noon and the meeting and program on compact Cattleyas begins at 1 pm. New members may join at the door (memberships start at $25/yr). Our way of saying, “Thank you for your support!”. We will be offering selections of all of the above, and as always, these will include a great variety of native plants. We will also have a small, but choice selection of carnivorous plants, succulents, orchids, and indoor plants. You know you can’t pass up a plant sale! Workshop This is a great 4-hr workshop, developed and run by the folks at Mecklenburg Co. Solid Waste Mgmt. The acronym stands for “Piedmont Landscape and Nature Training”, and the workshop covers such topics as composting, soil stewardship, and natural landscaping techniques. The Charlotte chapter holds monthly meetings on the second Sunday of every month at 2:30 pm, often at the McMillan Greenhouse.
