Gardens and Greenhouse Overview

The UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens consists of a notable combination of outdoor and indoor garden facilities on campus. Our three main garden areas are the Van Landingham Glen, the Susie Harwood Garden, and the McMillan Greenhouse.

Sometimes there seems to be a little confusion over “what is/where are the Botanical Gardens?” “Botanical Gardens” refer to all our facilities – the greenhouse and 2 outdoor gardens (10 acres total). Each of those areas has a specific name – honoring individuals whose support brought them into existence. So the McMillan Greenhouse complex, the 3-acre Susie Harwood Garden, and the 7-acre Van Landingham Glen together make up The UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens. Visitors are welcome in all areas and seasonal brochures are located at garden entrances to enhance your experience. Click on the garden area above to read what each has to offer.
