Volunteering

Volunteers are always welcome at UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens and they can choose from a variety of activities. Opportunities range from horticulture work in the gardens to serving as a Sunday afternoon host in the greenhouse. Some volunteers may choose to work every week, while others work less frequently. The list below gives an overview of some of the volunteer opportunities available.

  • Sunday afternoon host - Open the greenhouse for visitors on Sunday Afternoons from 1 to 4 pm. Training sessions held 2-3 times a year.

  • Weekly Horticulture - Work with one of our horticulturists in the gardens or greenhouse at the same time each week.

If you’re interested in volunteering, or want more information please contact Sue Richards at or by calling 704-687-2870.
