Notice: The following are typical program requirements and policies. The program coordinator may modify this information without prior notice (usually in a direct email to registered applicants). It is also the responsibility of the student to follow-up on current times, dates and class locations issued by the program coordinator that may not agree with information posted on other general lists or calendars within this site. Please contact the coordinator if you have questions or need clarification about any detail posted here. email@example.com
Location: Most courses will be held at the UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens, McMillan Greenhouse. A few classes will be taught at other local sites, so it is important to check the current listing for each course in the schedule provided by the program coordinator.
Registration: Registrations will be processed in a first-emailed, first-served basis; I kindly request your patience as it may take me a couple of days before I can respond to all emails. Payment is expected within one week once I confirm by email that you are enlisted in a class; otherwise the spot will be released and given to the next person in line. With the exception of Basic Botany, our class limits usually range between 14-16, and we want to ensure that those who really want to be in class are given the chance. Please do not send payment until I have confirmed that you are pre-registered.
Payment procedure: Checks should be made out to UNCC Botanical Gardens with the name of your class on the memo line and sent to my attention to the address below. Since we are unable to give refunds, if you are registering for multiple courses, please write one check per course and date your check for the first day of the course (that way we can shred it individually in case of a cancellation). If you prefer to pay for multiple courses with only one check, please note that it will be deposited on the starting date of the first course for which you are registering.
Cancellation policy: Per University policy we can not offer refunds. In the event that a cancellation must be made, it needs to be 21 days prior to the starting date of class for a full credit towards a future course. Otherwise, we will deduct a 25% cancellation fee, and the rest will be applied as credit towards the next class for which you may be registered. Cancellations made within 48 hours before the starting date will not receive any refund.
Re-taking a class: if you feel like you need a refresher, miss a significant number of class sessions or would just like to repeat a course taught by a different instructor, then consider re-taking a class. As long as space is available, the course fee will be 50% off (excluding materials/supplies).
